Malibu Discovery began as a concept discussed over a casual conversation between two strangers in line at Starbucks. The new business would focus on showing travelers and locals the uniqueness and beauty of Malibu, California — and showcase its up-and-coming wine region in the scenic Malibu Hills.
In April of 2010, Ken Fasola and Mike Dwyer embarked on the company's first Malibu Wine Trail™ Tour, and the foundation of a new type of tour company had begun. Designed to be entertaining, educational and inspiring, Malibu Discovery offered guests a special and upscale tour experience.
Today, Malibu Discovery and its sister brand LA Discovery Tours offer a variety of signature and custom tour excursions, all at some of LA's most unique and exciting venues and locations. Having successfully hosted over 14,000 tours, Malibu Discovery has earned the reputation as one of LA's best tour companies.

Quite a lot, actually. When we started, telling people Malibu had wine country got you a blank look. Now the Malibu Coast AVA is a recognised American Viticultural Area with real tasting rooms doing real work — Cornell, Rosenthal, Stonehaus, Hoyt Estate.
What hasn't changed: we still drive the same roads, we still know which pull-out has the view, and we still think a tour should feel like a friend showing you around rather than a recorded announcement.
